Born and raised in Lakewood, California, Paul McPhail’s love for music began early—picking up his first instrument in the 5th grade. He honed his skills as a member of the Mayfair High School Band and Jazz Band under the direction of Betty Ryder, an experience that helped shape his lifelong passion for music.
After high school, Paul pursued industrial electricity at Long Beach City College before joining the IBEW in Orange County. While building a career in the trades, he also discovered a passion for dirt biking, diving into amateur weekend races and later, vintage racing—still riding his classic 1978 Honda CR250 to this day.
Despite his many interests, music remained a constant. After years of performing in bands, Paul made the leap into writing and recording original music around six years ago—and never looked back. Now, he's channeling his life experiences, grit, and creativity into songs that reflect a journey still unfolding.
With each track, Paul invites listeners into his world—one that blends decades of musicianship with stories only life can write. Whether it’s a local gig, a streaming platform, or maybe even the radio waves, Paul’s music is here to be heard. And who knows? You just might see him on TV someday. Maybe not—but he’s giving it everything he’s got.
